What's wrong with my emojis?

Hi all,

I've come from an iPhone 5s to a Samsung S8 which I love.
However when I am on Facebook the emojis are terrible. On the iPhone they were bright and colourful. For some reason on the S8 some are dull.

Is it the phone or Facebook that is the issue.

I have been looking at other keyboards etc but all are the same.

That's Facebook's emoji set, they'll show up like that no matter what phone or keyboard you're using

Emojis are platform and version specific.... i.e. you will see differences between iOS and Android, and even within versions of Android, different OEMs and, sometimes, different apps. Behind the emoji is a simple code which is then mapped to a particular graphic file.

There are some apps out there that are supposed to be able to switch your default emojis, but I have not used them so I can't testify as to whether or not they work the way they are supposed to.
