What's your daily driver?

Hey Fisher/MrMobile.

Been watching you since the PocketNow days and I'm still mighty impressed at your professionalism and the quality of your reviews and production. You seem to have a keen eye for the little details and also one of the few reviewers who actually review the "phone" portion of a smartphone.

So here's my question. What's your daily driver phone, and why? I think last year saw a great number of phones that are solid improvements over their predecessors and even some interesting ones. My current daily driver is a Motorola Moto Z, which was purchased to replace my ill-fated Note 7.

Also, what are you eager to see at MWC 2017? For me, it would be the Nokias. Always wanted to know what they're up to.

And because I can't help it, I'm gonna say this line because it's stuck in my head.
"I'm Michael Fisher with Pocketnow and this is our video review of the Google Nexus.....6P"

Looking forward to your answers. ;)

Ha - thanks for being such a loyal viewer and sorry I didn't hit this question before MWC (not all of my flights had internet connectivity so I was dark a lot of the time).

I don't maintain a daily driver right now because I'm always hopping back and forth between units for both new reviews and review re-dos. But if I had to buy one right now I'd probably go for the Moto Z -- I've always been a Motorola fan, as you probably know, and the whole mod ecosystem is just so exciting in a world of otherwise static slabs. Hope you're enjoying yours!

Small caveat: when the BlackBerry KEYone launches, I'm almost certainly going to carry that as my primary for at least a little while. Perfect combo of nostalgia and functionality for me.

I had a bit of a rough start with the Moto Z when the Nougat update made the phone unusable but a reflash later and all is quite well. It's better than I thought it would be even without the mods, though I do have the JBL mod and I've ordered the Mophie battery mod and the Daydream view. It's a pretty good phone, though it arguably appeals more towards geeks.

And I recognize that avatar of yours. It was shot on the 2015 Moto X Pure Edition, right? I remember seeing it in the Pocketnow review of that phone.

Ha - yep, that sounds right. We'd just unearthed that briefcase phone from some dusty corner of my parents' garage and were having some fun. Enjoy your Mods!
