What's Your Favorite ROM?

Cm7 has no issues and looks like stock Android. The theme Chooser makes themeing really simple though, install an apk, apply, reboot :)

Edit: Issues that I know about.

Thanks. If its basically the same, what's better about it? And is it called a nightly because he uploads a new one one nightly? If so, aren't you constantly updating? Sorry for all the questions, noob here.

Nightlies are automatically built from the new code commits on a regular (usually daily) basis. You don't have to update every time a new one comes out. I only update two-three times a week. But it's pretty easy to update using ROM Manager, so it's not all that inconvenient. I prefer CM7 over the stock ROM mostly because CM7 doesn't have Facebook contact sync disabled, while the stock ROM does. I also get better performance from CM7 than the stock ROM.

If you're curious, you can look at the nightly CM7 commit log here: CyanogenMod nightlies changelog for Crespo4g

So I can download the CM7 straight from Rom Manager, boot into recovery mode, and install from SD card without ever touching a computer? Very interesting...I'm rooted BTW.

Yeah if you get ROM Manager from the market you can get ROMs through the program, and it will boot into recovery and flash it for you even. I think you may need to have the premium version to get the nightlies, but I could be wrong. If that's the case, you can browse to the changelog link that I posted before from your phone's browser and just download the nightly releases straight to your phone that way.

Definitely CM7 with the latest beta netarchy. 3900+ quadrant is crazy, and coming from and evo on cm7 this thing is crazy fast.

Do you have a direct link to that kernel your using, I'm using tiamat 3.3.7 sbc right now.

Check out ASOP+Premium from ACS. They did a great job on the Epic, made it run like it should, so
I waited for them to start switching - fast, lots of choices, yet remains true to vanilla. Great support and
responses and will maintain and improve as changes come.

I just got the NS4G last week and i tried flashing CM7 and the only problem i had is it didnt include market so i couldnt go and install the rest of my appa...i tried asking how to get it over at xda but couldnt get an answer.

You need to flash the gapps.zip to get the market, the zip is usually below the rom download link.

You can flash them at any time or flash when flashing CM7 then the gapps then reboot.

Deck / Matr1x. Wicked fast OC'd to 1.2GHz.

I wish you could re-skin the controls in the notifications bar though, these are ugly IMO.

I didnt like miui. Using decks now. Liking it so far. Cm7 was ok but battery life took a big hit.

I'm new to rooting -- have rom manager.

Each time I try a new rom I have to 'clear cache, etc" right? And re-install all my apps? Easiest way to do this is???

Thanks for not laughing too hard at this question.
