WhatsApp - can't receive/make calls with data saver On(Pixel 3 XL)

After installing Android Q on my Pixel 3 XL, I notice when I make or receive a call on WhatsApp with data saver On, it just says connecting, even with unrestricted data usage turned it still won't work. The moment I turn data saver off I can make/receive calls. Is there a work around for this?

WhatsApp has to redo the app for Q - email them.
