WhatsApp photos only 4.3?

Taking a photo with WhatsApp only takes a what seems to be a 4.3 picture size. The main rear camera is set to 16.9.

I have the S8 plus and a friend has the S8 and he has full photo size, any ideas?

Tried removing WhatsApp and setting up from fresh but still no good.1

I just tried it with my S8+ and it's 16x9.

Also when i try ta record a video with gs8+ looks blurry if the gs8+ is setting at higher display WQHD + and when is setting at FHD + taking pictures and record video using whatsapp app is normal any ideas?

No idea what's wrong tried all sorts.

my whatsapp camera is only 4.3 as well but camera app itself is fine, weird
