WhatsApp safe theming ?

Hi guys, I've been looking around for ways to theme my note 9s WhatsApp in the safest possible way but it seems as though you need to install third party APK .. Was wondering whether anybody has experience using this and whether it's safe ? Thanks a lot

Only one I've seen without downloading shady APKs (that Whatsapp might block) is by using Substratum.

Just download Substratum (might need root, haven't used it in a while but Samsung might have patched it or something). As for how to theme apps or the UI, however, that's the tricky part. I'm sure there are tutorials out there, but it's not an easy 'theme this, do that, done' kinda thing.
