Hello all. I'm facing this issue where my whatsapp messages are counting towards my 'messages' in my phone plan. I'm connected to Wi-fi and also have enabled the mobile-data. I know that whatsapp can send messages to invite friends, but I didn't invite anyone. I was just chatting with my existing contacts.
I have talked to my phone company, and they say they only see what is done on a network level. Since mobile data is turned on, even if wifi is down or bad, it should use the data part of the cellular-network to send the messages.
It would be great if anyone could shed some light on whether Whatsapp 'can' send messages as SMS (the normal texts) or if they have seen such behavior before. Thanks.
