Hello,

I have two Android phones, one is running on Android 6 (Honor 7 lite), and the other one is on Android 7 (Huawei 10 mate lite). The thing is, when I receive whatsapp messages on Android 6 phone, I am able to see the message sender's photo on the status bar as an icon:

However, on Android 7, when I receive a whatsapp message, I can only see a grey whatsapp status bar icon rather than a picture of the sender. What's the reason for this? Can I have an option to see the message sender's picture on Android 7, on the status bar?

Must be a customization of the Honor 7... Whatsapp doesn't support that natively, nor does Android as such. You can see the picture once you expand the notification, but the icon on the notification bar is the generic Whatsapp one.

Hello

you can see the message sender picture on android 7
First you tell android 6 user to change whatsapp settings
example: go to > whatsapp setting
than click on >account
than click on >privacy
than click to>profile photo [and change to {everyone}]

hence android 7 can see picture on android 7
