Whatsapp voice message blank on 6a

Got a new 6a, but when i send a voice message there is no sound. Vieo and audio calls work but not voice messages. Any thoughts please....?

Did you install WhatsApp from Play? Or from somw other site that didn't give you the variant for your phone?

I returned the phone as faulty to Amazon. It was a hardware issue
