WhatsApp won't restore after wiping phone

I have a Galaxy S9+ that I did a factory restore on and every other app works but WhatsApp. It claims that they cannot reach my device, but I can both send and receive both calls and SMS from other people and apps for verification. Is there something that I am missing?

Calls and SMS work on the telephone network WhatsApp works on the internet. Make sure you have an internet connection, whether it's on mobile data or wifi.
