Android Lollipop looks so amazing and better looking than Kitkat and new features of Android Lollipop really makes want to get Android Lollipop on my Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 and try it out. :) :)

So does everyone know when Samsung going to give provide us a update to Android Lollipop? And will it be in the next 1/2 months or so?

Will my Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 get the update? I can't wait to get Android Lollipop! :D

We supposed get it end of January. but i guess we still gotta wait until all carriers release the ota update.

Still waiting. Usually I don't mind waiting for big updates like this, but, for me, the lollipop update is more essential than typical because of how kit kat broke SD card usage. Lollipop is supposed to let apps use files stored there again. I hope it comes soon.

I don't mind waiting if it means Samsung will thoroughly test an update first.

There was a thread a while back saying the tablet was discontinued. It makes me wonder if we'll ever see an update to lollipop. Are there any official sources saying that we will get the update?

This tablet came out about a year ago. Being discontinued shouldn't matter. It was sold for a good while.

Is the Tab Pro 10.1 discontinued also? I still see it being sold at Best Buy.

Discontinue doesn't necessarily mean end of support. The nexus 4 was discontinued almost 2 years ago and still receiving updates/support. Samsung is really slow on android updates for the tablets, I'm not expecting any at this point but one can hope. The tablet works great on 4.4.2 anyways.. But good to have some additional updates I guess.

IMO, Samsung has so many products, lines, and models that they don't care to update each one when there's always a new and improved to promote.

End of February, still waiting for Lollipop on my Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4. Anyone know of a release date?

My tablet is about a year old since I bought it off of Amazon and I still use it daily. Love it! Even took it on a plane trip to Hawaii, watching movies, and still had battery life by the time I landed 9 hours later!

I dropped my android phone (used android for several years) and now use an iPhone 6+ now, but like having a tablet that's android based. Waiting for 5.0!

I've been waiting for Samsung to even provide an ANSWER, much less an update.

I got an update this morning (first time it's been online for a week or two) but it's 4.4.2 with a March 12 date.

I'm about ready to root, even if it dumps the warranty, and the next phone and tablet will probably not be Samsungs because of their mediocre support for anything other than the models they're pushing at the time. I bought my Pro 8.4 from Best Buy less than 14 weeks ago and it's pretty much orphaned already.

If I wanted this kind of poor treatment, I would have bought another iPad.

Since moving from 4.2 to 4.4, Samsung crippled the Tablet with removing access to the external SD card. The US only version available was the 16GB unit. To load things to the external SD card, you have to either first load it the main download area and cross load with the internal file program, or remove the external SD card and use a PC to load the files. The supposed reason was security. Not sure how this helps security when you have to remove the SD card and put it in another computer. And loading files with a cable is down right Apple like. Not mention the cable interface is USB 2.0. I get much higher transfer rates with WiFi. I still wonder why Samsung isn't using USB 3.0 for these devices. They did on the Galaxy S5.

This will get fixed with 5.0, if we ever get 5.0. What irritates me is that the PRO may be orphaned because it existed for 3-4 months before the S came out. If we don't have 5.0 soon, I'll load Cyanogenmod when my warranty expires.

Yep: 4.4.2, not even 4.4.4

Got a system update to my wifi version today, it was pretty big but... Tablet still shows 4.4.2...figures my Verizon Note 3 is probably never going to get Lollipop either.

I'll do the same. I'm rooted now with Towelroot and enjoy having full read/write access to my 128GB microSD card...

I may just have to root if for nothing else my SD card. Upgrading to 5.0 on my LG G3 gave my SD card back it's functionality and I'm loving it. My 8.4 internal memory is almost full and I don't even have any music or videos, and very few pics on it. I'll wait another month... maybe.
