When do i insert sim card??

I am transferring from a galaxys9 to a s22 ultra. Do I do all the prompts and transfers before I insert old sim card or after completing transfer? And what is the new sim card for? Or should I use new sim card?

Going from the S9 I would suggest using the new SIM card to properly register on 5G networks. It will probably activate during device setup.

If your sim old then use the new one and call your carrier to activate but you don't need your sim to transfer everything and set-up.
