When flashing back to stock

with odin all the info on my memory card is fine and will not be damaged right? Ive backed up everything, contacts, apps and such. Would backing up on my PC be a waist of time?

Also, I don't need to uninstall superuser and do a data reset first do I? Was thinking Odin and following these directions was all I needed to do.

Correct, all the info on your sd card is fine and will be untouched with ODIN. You do not need to uninstall superuser and do a data reset first. ODIN will do a clean wipe of your phone. You should be fine following that guide. I would imagine your phone will OTA up to ED05 then OTA up to EH03. I believe there may be an ED05 ODIN somewhere and you could just use that to save yourself a little time.

I was wondering if you could lend a hand please i cant go back into stock i have downloaded about 5 stock ED05 and DL09 odin files and there all corrupt could this be a file error or oding? It always says its corrupted please help

I would get rid of ODIN and redownload it. There's very little chance you are consistently downloading bad files. You could also try Heimdall, but I'm not sure where to get it. There's also the new GB build for our phone that leaked a while back you can download and try to ODIN that.

Thank you I got it fixed it turns out all I had to do was uninstall and install the phones drivers

So other than on this board Shark where do people find this stuff? (the ED05) I'm big about security and really don't like going to sites I do not know or trust.

That said, do you recommend updating via Verizon or myself with odin? Not so sure I would mind a bloat free 2.3 if I could get it on my Fascinate directly from oden via a download. Me being new with this I just want to be as safe as possible.

When going back to root do I use odin to do that or use the one click like I did the first time?

XDA Developers Forum. There is so much info there it will make your head explode trying to absorb it all, LOL! Bunch of very sharp guys over there, and all the downloads can be trusted. At least that's been my experience.

everything ran extremely well and flawless. I was able to start getting the updates almost as soon as the phone booted up. I think it was 4 total. After the ODIN flash the update downloads were 10X as fast and it seems I was up to date with 2.3.5 withing 35 min or so.

One thing that is sad is it seems Verizon loaded up even more bloat with the updates. Hell, now I have Madden football HD 11 on the phone. Much like the Tetris and Need for speed was slammed on there out of the box.

But, on the bright side, The OS seems outstanding compared to 2.1. I'm able to get the latest apps and update some I couldn't before. So far so good. At this point my signal does seem just a tad better and downloads and uploads seem to move much quicker.

My guess is since this is such a new release OTA update that the root fix is something that might be a good idea to wait on for a bit?

Does anyone have a link to a stock Fascinate anymore? All the links I've found so far have been deleted. I need to return a phone they replaced for me because the 3G is completely gone from this phone. I've got 2 days left to get it back to them. (was out of town since I got the new phone.)

Use the eh03 link it will get you back to stock gingerbread and Verizon won't know. No need to go that far back

I loaded the EH03 stock package with ODIN last night, and my phone lives again. It seems to run better than ever. Everything works so far, and initial GPS lock took only 4 seconds with the GPS Status app standing in my house next to a window.

Congrats! At some point you may want to try the Superclean ROM based off the new GB...it is quick and very stable (so far), with great battery life.
