When I add new songs to my phone, why do they get choppy and start playing fast?

when i add new songs to my phone they get choppy anf start playing fast

i have a moto g with the google play music, and ive added songs before and they work fine, but now they sound like they are fast forwarding

Welcome to Android Central! How are you adding the songs? Are you copying them directly to the phone via USB from your computer? What file format are they? Are they on your Internal Storage or a microSD card (if your Moto G is one that has an SD slot)?
