When i ring my son in australia my portal keeps saying check internet connections but all seems ok

yours and his internet connections may be okay but the lines between may not be. there could be bottlenecks, heavy traffic or technical issues or whatever between you two. you did not say what country you are calling from it it could also make a difference.

Are you calling by phone, or with some app?

Are you using WiFi or mobile data?

It sounds like the OP is using the Facebook Portal (Facebook's answer to the Google Home Hub and Echo Show).

OP, are you certain that you set up your Portal correctly? Have you gone over all of the steps in the manual? Do you have any other problems with wi-fi connections on your other devices at home?
