when i try to charge while powered off, clockwork starts automatically

I'm trying to perform a battery calibration but when I power off my Aria and plug in the wall charger, it automatically boots into clockwork and doesn't charge. I can't figure out how to charge while powered down - Please help, am I missing something?

Ps I'm obviously rooted, running liberty 005 I think
