When I use the google search bar from my home screen, the screen goes blank after scrolling down

[Android Central Question]

If I use the Google search bar from my home screen, after scrolling down a bit, the page is blank. The links are still there since I can click on them, but they're not visible.

If I use the search bar in Chrome, it works just fine.

I did a search on both for "screenshot Pixel 3" (no quotes in the search bar, just to note what I searched for)

The Google bar search goes blank just below the first Videos pictures, and the Chrome search keeps going.

I've tried restarting, clearing the cache and data from the Google app, even reinstalling the Google app from scratch, no luck.

Any ideas?

Ah, the word I needed to use was "widget" That and I assumed the Google app controlled the Chrome app rather than the other way around. Thank you, Diddybassador!

I have the same issue and unfortunately your suggestion B. Diddy didn't help

I've seen this occur due to theme or background setting not allowing the text to be visible. Try a different theme to rule this out.

Just to be sure -- you tried both updating Chrome and, if that didn't work, uninstalling all updates to it?

yes, did everything.

Are you using the beta version of Google? If so, try reverting to the stable version. Or vice-versa -- you could try joining the beta program if you're already on stable.
