you cant always go by the version number, you have ot go by the code commits made by the OEM, most of the time they fixed bugs that were in the later point updates

If you're wondering about the differences between 5.0 and 5.1, here's a few from an article I found here on AC:
- Quick settings tweaks, changes to volume & interruption sliders
- HD Voice, dual SIM support, and new API's
- Device protection and revamped screen pinning

Don't feel too special. 5.0 was a major hate fest over on the M8 section too. I just went through it on my M8, and now trying to make sure everything is backed up on my mate's Note 3 while postponing the Lollipop downgrade as long as possible. Hopefully the folks at Google are listening, because it seems like no one likes the functionality changes, even if they don't have any actual bugs.
