When playing Rip Tide the screen slowly dims and then goes black

I've got the 8GB version of the Nexus 7 and I've noticed when I'm playing the Rip Tide game the screen will slowly start to dim and eventually it will go black. When I press the power button I get the main screen which requires me to swipe to open the tablet. Once I've completed the swipe the Rip Tide game appears and it's in "pause" mode and if I hit "pause" the game continues from where it stopped.

Has anyone else had this problem?

It doesn't happen all the time but it tends to happen at least once during two different races.

I've already uninstalled and re-installed Rip Tide and I'm thinking about doing a Factory Restore next.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You screen timeout is set too low. Tap anywhere on the screen during game play to keep it from sleeping. I changed mine to 2 minutes and that works for me. If you read the play description they mention they are aware and are working on a fix. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply - I bet that's the problem.

I rarely use any onscreen gestures when I'm playing the game and I bet the screen is simply timing out. I'll change the screen setting to five minutes and see what happens.

Thanks again for the response - I really like my Nexus 7 and I was fearing that I'd have to go through the hassle of exchanging this one through the Google Play store.
