Does anyone know when the 4.3 update is coming to Rogers for the S4? I have heard that it will be in Canada on the S4 sometime in November 2013, but it is not confirmed. It will be great when it is released, since it is supposed to increase your battery life even more. I am already running 40 hours for battery life by using Battery Doctor, but it would be nice to get more out of it!

Well we dont know

But im in no rush.... This update seems to be very buggy, and they removed the data toggle.

Really they removed the data toggle? I heard about it being a buggy, but I did not know they remove one of the best features of android being the data toggle!

I hope it is not true that they are removing that function, I disable my mobile data 80% of the time and use networks that I am around the majority of the time.

I meant the toggle in the notification panel :-)

Do you mean the Mobile Data toggle in the notification area? That seems strange that they would remove that option from there? All your options to enable and disable most roaming and special features are located there for quick access, that just doesn't make sense to remove it.

Yeah that one..

At least on U.S variants that got 4.3

And yes it doesnt make sense

From what I've heard AT&T started rolling out 4.3 in the USA last week but pulled it due to some bugs. Once it's in working order down there we'll likely see it soon thereafter. All of my Rogers apps and a bunch of other apps updated today with some new feature where they can send text messages from your phone. I'd bet the Canadian release was initially slated for today or this week.

Bell has announced they will release 4.3 on November 23rd
So it might be the same for us

I have seen only one advantage to 4.3, and there are two 'features' that bug me..
For:
I can now re-access my SDCard for reading/writing. Something that vanished mysteriously in the middle of the summer.
Against:
1. Yes. mobile data toggle has been removed. It is a real pain to go through the settings to turn it on or off as required.
2. Also (apparently) S-Health is now killing my battery with 75% consumption rates. I have never used this app (never will) .
Having to charge my battery 2-3 times every day is not good, to put it mildly.
Between the advantage and these two 'improvements' have me teetering on wishing if there is a way to re-install 4.2?

I have a solution for the data toggle. Just download a data on-off widget. It's not as convenient compared to the toggle, but it'll do. I hate how they removed it. I see no point of doing that.

Thanks. I have downloaded Battery Doctor. Its switch widget helps a lot, as do the other tools that come with it.
