I just wanted to know how long it can take for 5.1 to come for HTC m9

Did you just pull that out of thin air because I doubt it take until June 2016 to get the 5.1 update. We will probably have M by then.

To answer his question I would say based and previous releases we will have it within 6 months or before the end of the year. The 1.40 firmware update, sometime before the end of June.

Absolutely i pulled it out of the air. It was just weeks ago that M was even announced.
It then will get released to the nexus line, then manufacuteres get it, then they have to tailor it to each carrier.
We have no official release date for M, so 6 months to a year.
Heck, didnt AC just announce that 12% of android devices now have Lollipop?

He wasn't asking about M though. He was asking a out Lollipop 5.1. For that, by the end of the year not next June.

5.1. August + carrier testing, etc.... M next year

M8 is August. There has been no announcement for M9.

I'm hoping by the end of August, but I'm not holding my breath. HTC hasn't made an official announcement as far as I know about the M9. They said July or August for the M8. I find it strange that the M8 may get it before the M9.
