Just got new Galaxy S7Edge and find Android Auto does not recognize phone. Dealership said new software - Marshmallow - is issue and VW has not yet created update for it. Any news or ideas?
With further research I solved the problem. Surprised there was not more info on the subject. The lack of recognition of my Galaxy S7 Edge has nothing to do with the Volkswagen MIBII platform as the dealership had stated. It was the setting on the phone that need to change to designate how I was using the cable. For some reason the cable menu did not open when I initially attempted to pair the phone with the car. Eventually it did and when I selected a different function for the cable Android Auto opened up. Still not sure how to access the cable menu in Settings. Hopefully this will become more widely known.
