Both, really. Samsung has to release the update to carriers, then carriers have to test it, approve it, then release it.

I'm with Telus in Canada and my guess is around August 21st. We seem to be about three weeks behind the previous month security patch at the least.

No source quoting that, that is just what I have noticed happens often. It was similar when I had my S7 Edge.

I would also like to add that it appears to be bi- monthly not monthly.

did anybody receive AR emoji editor update thru samsung? if so for some strange reason it's worse than the set up that was in place b4 the update...still no option for the facial hairs such as beards...I'm now losing faith with this feature lol

Yeah I updated it this morning though the galaxy app store. I have a beard, my emoji does not. In fact the previous ones I'd made had more of a facial hair look than with the new version.

Hmmm I didnt recieve the July security patch update on t-mobile yet....if anything I prefer we get August security patch update that has already been pushed globally. Makes me wanna go back to iPhone with proper timely updates!

That's one of the main reasons I went back to an iPhone. Lasted 8 months. Missed Android too much. Android is just so much better IMO

Hopefully it will be sometime soon. My unlocked S7 Edge got the July patch just today.
