Where are my apps downloading to?

[AC Question]

Can't Find Apps

So i download a app on my phone. The playstore says it is installed but when i go to the app list i dont see it in the list. and when i go to the settings (app manager) my phone says it is on the phone but like there is no short cut or a way i can access the app on my phone it frustrates me. I have a Galaxy S3. and this phone was used i got it from a relative.

Have you already tried in the widgets list?

Hi Nadia, welcome to the forums! Can you open that app from the Play Store? You could try this, uninstall it, make sure in the Play Store settings that "add icon to home screen" is checked and install back again.

I can't open it from the play store. I tried uninstalling it over and over again still doesnt work. : / The struggle! and the add icon to homescreen option is checked so it should do that.

That's strange. When you tap on "open" in the Play Store, do you get an error or it simply doesn't do anything? Does this happen with just one app? Could you tell us which app it is?

Actully there is no open button. And i know the apps work because i had it on my Old android phone before. any ways the apps i have trouble with is Snapchat, Instagram, Pintrest, Skype, Pandora, and games like Hayday. But i also think this will also happen with any app that wasn't already installed onto the phone.

There are some things you could try.

If you have an SD card remove it to make sure is not giving you problems.
Clear cache and data for the Play Store and sign back.
Do you still have your relative account in the phone? Have you considered a factory reset to avoid any inherited problem? Being a second hand phone this could be one of the first things to do to have a fresh start. Check with your relative if the phone was rooted.

Ok i will definitely do that. As far as i know i dont have my relative account on my phone maybe the samsung thing but yeah. Ill check with my relative. Thank You! Glad to be on the forum!

So i found out i dont have a microSD card. I think that was the problem

Omg so i took out the battery and out it back in and it worked i see the apps now! Thank You for helping me!
