Where are the Cached Maps

I thought this phone with the new HTC Sense was going to have the new Cached Maps as shown on

This was posted on a few sites as having the Cached Maps

I know mine arent cached either. It takes a few mintues to load. Plus my GPS signal doesn't seem to be too strong either.

What I did notice that the phone does cache maps.
It does not have the option to download the maps like in the video.

If you load google maps and click on Menu then select More you will see cache settings. There you can see how much data is being used to cache the maps.

What I did was opened up google maps and zoomed in the entire route from work to home and zoomed moved the map the surrounding areas to get more data. My cache now shows 6megs. I then turned the phone on airplane mode and it routed the entire way to work showing the maps with no trouble.

Just not sure how much data can be cached on the phone.

Thanks for the tip. I still cant figure out what makes the 3d appear. I was browsing on my maps through las vegas and it automatically displayed the 3d buildings but haven't been able to make it appear anywhere else like where i live. any ideas?
