Where are the media control buttons when you lower volume using the buttons?

So I just upgraded (or maybe downgraded) from a Galaxy S3. The first thing I noticed was that when you reduce the volume, you cannot see an option to quickly go into media volume control to change the volume. Any suggestions how to enable that option?

I don't believe that option exists in stock Android. However, the volume buttons will control media volume when media is playing. Otherwise, they'll control the general system volume.

Because they never had it in stock android. That feature is in Samsung's TouchWiz and maybe others, I'm not sure.

I used to have an S3 and I miss that feature as well.
