Automatically Downloading All Apps to New Phone

Google Play does this whenever I set up a new phone. I don't mind it. Actually rather like it. But where do I control the settings for that?

Re: Automatically Downloading All Apps to New Phone

I think it's Settings>Backup & Reset>Automatically Restore. Although you obviously can't get to that immediately when you have a brand new phone. I can't remember if, during the setup wizard, there's a prompt for you to restore all of your Google data--if there is, say no. Otherwise, once you're done with the setup wizard, you could go immediately to Google Play Store, bring up My Apps, and tap the Stop All button.

Hmm..thanks, but I don't see Backup & Reset in Settings in Play Store...?

Sorry, it's your System Settings for the phone.

Thanks, but where are System settings? Security? Apps? Not sure where you're talking about.

Found it, sorry. That says "when installing an app...", which doesn't seem to reference redownloading every app.

Is that what you think that is?

Surprised this isn't a note obvious toggle...

Re: Automatically Downloading All Apps to New Phone

I think that's what it is, although I've never experimented with doing a factory reset with that setting on and then off.

The Google support page implies that's what it does: https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/2819582?hl=en. If you click on "Learn what data and settings are restored," it mentions "Apps installed through Google Play."
