Where are the wallpapers stored?

I have a sd card \Media\Wallpapers directory, but if I copy wallpaper images into it, they still don't show up under Settings>sound and display>wallpaper settings. I know that I can see them on the card using something like Astro, and even set them as my wallpaper via a long press, but I really want them to be viewed with the preinstalled wallpapers. Does anyone know where these are on the phone?

You have to select 'media gallery' instead of Wallpapers or Live Wallpapers. Also pay attention to the little crop tool that comes up when you select your image - it took me a couple tries before I realized why there was a weird crop on it at first.
