I've searched XDA/AndroidForums/AndroidCentral for the MT4G stock rom and I can't find it. I did a nandroid backup of it, but I guess along the way it got deleted. I tried to unroot the phone to see if that puts it back on stock but it doesn't. If you know of any other way, or know where I can get the stock rom please let me know. Closest I've gotten to it is Ice Glacier and thats not cutting it if I have to do a warranty exchange.

Good luck. If you deleted yours you're out of luck. I've contacted htc about this. There is no ruu like other htc phones (at the request of t-mo according to them). Also, htc sync is not available for the phone, either.

I'm in the same boat as you, I forgot to make a backup of my stock rooted rom. Oops

I might be able to help. I have a stock nandroid of my device which I loaded back on and did a full data reset (so there is no personal info of mine at all). If I sent that to you, you should be able to load it up on your device.

Note: It is a rooted version of the stock myTouch (I used VISIONary). Also, in order to do a backup I had to go through the initial setup (I didn't put in any of my information though like Gmail account, Facebook, etc.) and then side-loaded Rom Manager. So, even though none of my info is on it, I would still do a reset before you start personalizing it just to be safe and so you can go through the setup.

Let me know if you'd like to try it.

Someone will be posting instructions of how to do it. Wait a little bit.

Wrong.

The stock rom was posted on XDA before the phone even released. Go over there and find it in the development section.

I know people that have looked into this ROM and said it's no good. At least not from a development standpoint. Nothing can be built from it, so I'm not sure how good it is for flashing.

That's actually what prompted my email to HTC. It's been a while but I'm pretty sure what's on XDA was either a bad rip from the phone or a bad upload. Something about it was corrupt.

As far as using it to restore your phone I'm not sure if it'll work for that. You can try and let us know how it goes, but we're not responsible if something goes wrong.

Credit to iamlilysdad for contacting me to get the info.
To use a nadroid backup made from a different phone you need to plug your phone into pc and run (adb devices) that will give you a print out of your serial number.
Now look inside the nadroid folder you wish to use to restore. The file inside is going to have a serial number replace that with your print out from (adb devices). Now you should be able to restore the nadroid.

I would use this before I would use the ROM available on XDA, assuming you trust other members here more than XDA.

Given how large these files are you will need a file sharing service like megaupload to share these. Just so you guys know.

I said that because I'm interested in it. When it's uploaded can you let me know please? If you prefer you can PM me the link.
