That depends - which gallery app are you using? I use Google Photos and it sends deleted photos to a recycle bin. It's been a while since I've used an LG phone, but I don't remember their stock gallery app offering this same functionality, so it probably just deletes the photos immediately instead of "recycling" them.

If the phone is set up normally, you should be backing your pictures up to Google Photos. Check there to see if they're backed up.
