I have an MPIE by XGODY android cell phone. I have a few questions regarding this phone, and was wondering if someone could point me into the appropriate forum to ask them. Thanks.

Welcome to Android Central! This is the best subforum to post in, since that phone is uncommon and doesn't have its own subforum. What's the issue?

Appreciate the response.

1. I just found out last night that the default email program, doesn't use the "reply to" email address, when responding to emails. I own a local junk removal business, and have the web submissions going to a company email on my phone. When I went to reply to a submission, it sent it back to the from email, instead of the reply email. I use jotform, so the forms are emailed from noreply at jotform. One of the reps recommended that I utilize a different program, suggesting that the default email app might have a bug. Unfortunately, he was right, as I downloaded K9 Mail and when I went to reply to a test submission email, it worked perfectly. So, I am curious if anyone else has had this issue, and if so, how they resolvd it. If not, if anyone knows how I can report the bug for the default mail app.

2. The battery on this phone drains quickly for me. What is funny, is my wife and her mom both have the same phone exactly, and theirs lasts longer than mine. Aside from my email that check once per hour, I only really use Facebook. However, my wife is on Facebook most times like I am, and hers seems to not drain crazy like mine does. Trying to see if anyone has any recommended apps to try to preserve the battery, or if there is some sort of settings to check.

3. I have noticed that when I restart the phone, that most of the apps will "vanish" to where I have to re add them to the home screen, or they will remain, but their icon will be replaced with the little android guy. Not sure what could be causing that to happen. I used to have a galaxy s3 and it never did that.

4. I used to have a galaxy s3, and I used the default calender app a LOT. What I liked most about it, was when I pulled it up, it will show the name of the events on the days that I added the event to. It was real useful. With this new phone, instead of the name of the event, it just shows a blue line. Is there possibly a setting to change that, that I have over looked?.

I believe that is all for now. Any insight or help on any of the above, is appreciated. I am not to sure on how old this phone has been out, but apparently not long, as I have had a hard time finding a lot of info on it.

Responses by item number:

1. I don't use a stock Email app on my Nexus 5, but in the Gmail app, the main options are Reply, Reply All, and Forward. If I tap Reply, then it automatically populates the To field with the sender's email address. But I can add any other email address I want, or remove that sender's email address. I think that's pretty standard.

2. There are lots of reasons for battery drain. Charge up to 100%, then let it drain to 20-30% with normal usage, without charging in between. Then show us:

  • The main Settings>Battery screen.
  • The fullscreen battery graph screen (which shows Awake time and Cell Signal Strength).
  • The Screen category (to see total Screen On time).
  • The Cell Standby category, if present (to see Time Without Signal).

Common culprits for battery drain include poor cell signal and corrupt files on the SD card.

3. This can happen if the apps have been "moved to SD," and then the SD card gets unexpectedly removed, or if the SD card is having problems. This might be related to the battery drain you mention in #2. Unmount the card (in Settings>Storage), remove it, and insert it into your computer, then run chkdsk to look for bad sectors. http://forums.androidcentral.com/am...guide-using-chkdsk-fix-corrupted-sd-card.html

4. What view are you using in the calendar app? The month view usually doesn't show any text, and the week view might not how text if there's a lot of it. The Agenda view should show text.

I keep fogetting to take screen shots.

However, it appears that cell standby apparently is the biggest drain. go figure.

I also notice too, that some of the apps make the battery drain really fast.

The biggest problem, I am having as of today, is that my phone keeps alerting me that the sd card has been unexpectingly removed and asks me if I want to change storage. I select no, and then all the apps I have downloaded, disappear. It also keeps taking the sd card off as the preferred choice for storage. Not sure what is causing it. It is as annoying as when the phone dies, and it powers back up, all the apps are either gone off the screen, or have the android screen. I have run chkdsk and it came back okay.

Not sure what is causing any of it. Never had this issue before.

Also, for some reason, the phone keeps automatically downloading apps. One imparticular I have removed 7 times so far.

Every few minutes, my phone is telling me that the SD card has been unexpectedly removed...then a second later, it will say it is preparing the SD card.

I have run anti virus against my phone, the sd card, and used chkdsk, and everything is saying it is clean. I have unmounted the sd card, re mounted the sd card, restarted the phone etc and it just keeps on doing it.

My wife and her mom have the same phone, and it is not doing it to them.
