I've read many posts about liking or not liking adaptive brightness. I'd like to try it myself, but my brightness settings don't have that option.

How can I enable adaptive brightness? My Android version is 7.1.1.

Welcome to the forums. See if you get the option (auto checkbox next to the slider) in your notification panel, after swiping down from the status bar.

Are you sure you have an S7? Because the S7 didn't get 7.1 AFAIK

I was wrong about the phone version. It's a J7 and the notification panel has no checkbox.

Ah, that's different. It seems the J7 doesn't have an ambient light sensor, which means there's no auto brightness option. Sorry.

Also, it depends on what J7 we are talking about. Some J7s have an LCD screen, and the Adaptive Screen mode (different from adaptive brightness) is only for AMOLED screens.

I've edited the thread title and moved the thread to the Samsung Galaxy J Series forum.
