Where is Knox on GTA Verizon?

It's not installed by default. You download it. There's a download stub in the Samsung folder in the Apps directory as I recall.

It also depends on what carrier you have If youcan get it. Only there of them are including the stub.

Wonder if any will pull the apk.

Right now att isn't including it

I have the verizon Note 3 and don't see where to download it. I've gone into the Apps directory, then the Samsung folder and there is nothing in there that says Knox. That's the whole reason I bought this phone was to test Knox for our BYOD environment. A Samsung rep told me it would ship on the device. Really, really hoping there is a way to get it onto the Verizon model and I'm just missing it. I've checked the Samsung hub, the Samsung app store, the Play store and looked everywhere on the device....

After playing around more, I went under settings > Security > Device Administrators and there is a check box in there for Knox, but after checking that box and rebooting I still can't find any app, icon or infomation about Knox.

I am working with both Samsung and Verizon right now. I will post what I find out.

*Update:
Samsung had me do a soft reset, clear the device cache, and a factory reset. They also had me run the force stop in application manager a few times to see if the application would become available but it did not. They recommend I contact the carrier as it appears to be something caused by Verizon.

-On the phone with Verizon now. On hold with Tier 2....

Looks like Verizon did the same thing att did. It isn't available on the att phone right now either.

When I talked to Samsung they said it would eventually be in the play store, but couldn't give me a eta.

Someone on xda forums went round and round and the Samsung rep told him they would do a ota in the coming weeks to fix this on the att phones at least.

I had to Google this. I'm not going to use it but pretty interesting Samsung created this.

*Update
- Verizon has no idea why the app is not on the devices. Tier 2 checked their inventory and the app is no where on their devices except the application manager as well. They claim they will send the information to Samsung and there should be a software update which will fix the issue. There is of course no ETA on this information.

- I did chat with Samsung again. They wouldn't give me anything but the toll free voice support number which is closed. I suppose I will call them tomorrow. I am sure they are aware of the issue, but Verizon Tier 2 didn't even know what Knox was :S We shall see.

It is on all of Note 3s.....go to settings, security, device administrator then click the Knox box... Then you are good to go.

There are two versions of knox. One that a company can install and setup.for enterprise and a new one with the note 3 that is for personal use. It is the personal one that is missing from phones. Per Samsung's documentation we should all have a icon in our app drawer to open and setup knox. It is simply missing.

This. Hopefully the OTA update will be sent out within a few weeks for this fix.

Not that it helps you guys on Verizon or att, but as a t mobile user, I have had Knox up and running since day one. It was in the Samsung apps folder, ready to go.

I thought all Note 3 has the Knox software installed. Am I mistaken?

It's Verizon... They always take things away from phones if they have something they sell. You know everyone says they are the most greedy care of all :).

Not necessarily with Verizon. They are known to take things away. They could of possibly not removed it but... There is a good chance they did.

Example would be the HTC One. They removed power saving mode even though all other carriers had it. Why? They sold some sort of battery thing for it and rather you buy that instead.

Activated Knox under Admins, and still can't add any email accounts under Knox, or even get the icon to show. I wanted to try out Knox before I rooted... Grrr!

Anybody heard anything new?

Verizon doing their usual bangup job. The software is there. You just can't run it....Screenshot_2013-10-11-13-00-14.jpg

When you try installing the software it fails. And people wonder why I'm such a proponent of stock. Or at least not dicking with what the OEM gives you from version to version. I was however pleasantly surprised that unlike my old Galaxy S3, there is no ugly notification that OMG! WIRELESS AVAILABLE! All the time in the status screen.

I wonder if once we get root and can write to this partition if activating read\write would allow access. Or or maybe Knox is an entirely separate partition in which case repartitioning may be needed. Don't know enough about how the tech works. For all I know KNOX could simply be an encrypted mounted disk image.
