I need to have a phone that has the option for both and im worried that i havent heard anything yet about the availability of either one yet. I know someone showed that aftermarket one but i only want the HTC branded one. Someone please give me some good news! :)

I hope they didnt decide against it since it had a kickstand. Besides the charging port position defeats that anyway. And i know that the EVO had both available as well.

HDMI Out could actually explain why it costs so much $. The Thunderbolt does DLNA and it could be that the multimedia dock acts as a DLNA Receiver. If so, you could plug it in to a TV (via HDMI) and send photos/videos from phone2dock over DLNA and from dock2tv over HDMI.

Not saying this is the case, just a theory as to why the MM Dock is ridiculously expensive.

I'm pretty sure you are correct. I was talking with the Verizon guy yesterday when I got my phone, and he states the phone will act as a DLNA device via wifi, or use the dock for HDMI. Not entirely sure how USB 2.0 can handle HDMI speeds/properties, but such is the magic of these things and why they are $60.

For people just needing a desk charger, I'm using the car dock (the part that clips on the window mount) on my desk, propped against some binder clips. Seems to be working OK, but it can't connect via HDMI obviously.
