Where is my Google Now?

I'm sure this is something stupid on my end, but I can't get Google now to show up. If I scroll to the left (from my first home page), it doesn't do anything. I though that was supposed to bring up Now. Also, if I pull up from the bottom, it sort of looks like it's bringing up Now, but nothing shows up except some recent Google searches. I remember on my N4, I had to go through a couple of "Next" pages the first time I launched Now, then say click something like "Sign Me Up," but I don't get that stuff either.

Any ideas?

To turn Google Now back on, long press on the home screen, then choose Settings
