Photo saving location

I have a Galaxy s5 with 5.0. I recently had to do a factory reset. Now when I long press a photo from the net the photos do not show up in my gallery. They can be found in the file manager but not in the gallery. Prior to the factory reset it saved directly to the gallery. Photos taken with the camera appear in the gallery but they are the only ones that are displayed in the gallery. What am I missing?

Re: Photo saving location

Which directory do you find the images in, the /storage/sdcard0/Download directory? Using the My Files app, look in the directory and see if there is a file called ".nomedia". If you see that file, delete it, because it instructs the system's Media Scanner to ignore that directory when scanning for images to populate the Gallery database with.
