where is places and what's nearby for

Hi, I've got an s7, And on the internet it says on the phone app you should get recent/contacts or places, I don't have that. So how do I get it please? And also what does nearby mean? As when I turn it on it automatically turns off.

In the Phone app, Recent Contacts could be referring to either the Call Log/History, or the Starred Contacts (which typically shows your favorite contacts, as well as other contacts you've called recently).

I believe you are referring to the Google service. If you have it active and your GPS on , it will start to do the things you read about.
