Where is the backup?

HTC Backup probably won't work on your G3, being different brands...lol.

Hiya you seem to know what your doing, unlike me I'm a complete technophobe! I was wondering where the hidden file would be on an iMac. I have the same problem and google back up my partners contacts but strangely not his photos, which are one of our children growing up through the years. I know I backed it up as I had to before it went to the shop to be repaired. once repaired i just plugged the phone into the computer and it restored everything. since then his M8 was stolen in Spain, so we have now got a M9 but when i plug this in it takes me to the HTC syn manager, which it never did before and I can't find anything that was backed up from the M8. Any ideas would truly appreciate you help. TIA

Many thanks for that. Just bought my new HTC 10 and need to back up from my HTC One M8. Now I know to get my info onto the new mobile.

Wel... Just to add on what's been shared here,
. To preview backed up data on HTC 10, just launch the Google Drive App.. If u don't have it, download it from the store.. Then launch it.
But don't forget to open up a back up account, coz without it.. U won't be able to see ur data. So... A back up account is a must have!
After launching the Google Drive App, (oh.. I found an offer of 100GB free storage for being an HTC 10 user and summing up with the 15GB that the app offers, I have a total of 115 GB cloud storage)
Then, from the app, on the top left corner.. There are three holizintol lines with all options..
-preview data
-permission on when to back up, Wi-Fi or cellular data
-last back up
-keep or delete backed up data
-auto back up option for Google photos.

The main point is to create a back up account, with it.. Am sure even if ur not sure on how to monitor ur data, at least it's already giving us a chance of make auto update as a choice, so.. In case of switching, or loss of a phone.. Entering ur email/backup account is an express high way to the home u. ve known all ur life..
But still monitoring ur work ain't a crime, the problem is not knowing how to, so.. Here we are.
