It's on the the right side of home screen, below the clock/weather widget and above Camera. It's actually VVM.

I click on it an it asks for an update. It is taking forever though.

I would wait and try the update tomorrow if your having issues. If it's still not fixed call Sprint Technical Support by dialing *2 on your phone.

The LED on the left is the notification LED. In the middle is your ear speaker. The small 'LED' looking thing on the right is what I believe to be the light-sensor. This is what causes your phone to brighten and dim depending on the amount of light around you.

You should confirm the setting of the "download from any source" and not just google market, mine updated with no issues.
