Where to Buy?

Has anyone heard anything about this being available outside of Google Play (Best Buy, Amazon, etc)? I'd rather not pay both shipping and sales tax if I can avoid it (like I would via Google Play -- $114 for a $99 device).

Thanks!

Google initially said that the Nexus Player would be sold by other retailers starting November 2nd. They later retracted that statement saying that the Play Store would be the only location to buy the Nexus Player for the foreseeable future. So your guess is as good as anyone's at this point. You might be able to stroll into Best Buy on November 2nd and buy it (though you'll still pay tax) or you might be stuck with the Play Store.

I was going to pre-order the Nexus Player but like you, I really didn't fancy paying an extra $15 so I'm holding off. I'm not in a rush so I can wait to see if Best Buy or Amazon eventually offers it. I have a feeling Best Buy might pull through. They seem to be an exclusive partner with Google at the moment as they are the exclusive retailer (as in brick and mortar retailer) for the Moto 360 and they appear to be following the same path with the Nexus 9.

Me too I canceled my pre-order I can't see paying $10 plus $10 again for tax.
