Where'd it go?

Been checking to see if the DNA's price would go down with all these fancy new phone announcements. Checked it out today and it's completely gone off of Verizon's website. Supply shortages? DNA 2 on the way?

I noticed this too. For a while it had been showing "Shipping 3-29" and then it changed to "Out of stock" and now it's just disappeared completely from the Verizon website. I just called the local Verizon store and asked them about it. They explained that right now inventory levels are extremely low and it's an order only device in their system, so stores typically don't have it in stock right now. When they make a DNA sale these days, they get a quote of 7-8 days for delivery, but have seen the phones arriving in 2-3 days. To their knowledge, it wasn't being discontinued but had been pulled from the website due to supply issues.

About a week ago I was in the store looking at the DNA and the employee there at the time told that it was on backorder and had been for a few weeks as Verizon/HTC were working on a fix for the sim card error issue. That seemed reasonable to me as it was showing "Shipping 3-29" on the website at the time, but I've never read or heard anything since to confirm that Verizon/HTC were actually working on a fix and pulling inventory while they were doing so.

Not sure what that all means or how accurate the info from the sales person is, but that's my two cents.

Hopefully they just stop and put out an untouched 64GB HTC One,....hahaha like that'll ever happen.

I just saw a report that AT&T has the exclusive contract for the 64GB HTC One.

Better check the latest blog post on AC by Jerry . . you'll find your answer there.
Droid DNA+ here we come! =)

Mayhaps this is addressing the SIM issue that everybody (not me, thank goodness and knock on wood) is experiencing. I did hear some chatter about HTC and Verizon working on resolving the issue, though take that with a gallon of salt.

I couldn't find the DNA on the website weeks ago, but as for supply, when we bought my DNA (and a second that was returned for defects) they were completely out in store. We purchased the last two in stock. For a week I came back every day trying to trade in the defected DNA for a new one, and every day they were sold out or waiting on shipment. Finally said screw it and upgraded to note 2 for my husband.

Likely just a placeholder for the product. There is no detailed info on the phone itself anymore. Probably just put it up since they were tired of being questioned about it.

Nope, it's there alright. All of it. If it's a placeholder then it's a pretty convincing one.

Is it The Exact same model #? Or is it a new revised model without SIM card issues???

The 2 corporate stores closest to me have them in stock as of yesterday and the website will let me order online for pick up in store tomorrow.

The device is now back, but likely did go through a SKU change. The device ID used to be 6103 on Verizon?s site and is now 6691

Droid-Life

Everything points to them fixing the SIM issues.

So are we thinking/hoping that if I/someone went out and bought a dna it might not have the sim issue? Or are there likely still some of the older sku's out there?

(Still going back and forth between this and ip5 or z10 . .)

From reading this thread and other places it appears as if Verizon cleared out the older versions. If I were you I'd remember the 6691 just in case and ask the employee if that's the version they're selling.

Just to clarify . . 6691 is the new sku in the vzw system?
