Which 32GB card will they include?

email htc, they seem to give any specs or info besides a release date an price. an usually respond about 2-4 hours. iv asked some questions an were very open about info

For you people I hope they give out SanDisk 32GB Class 2 as its better in quility sense now keep in mind Class 2 rating does not mean you won't get higher speed. Most SanDisk gets +2 class rating and on 32GB C2 people reported 5-6mbps write/8-10mbps read. Trust me I know :P I did extended benchmarks on some and ATM I stopped with Patriot LX 32GB Class 10, Lexar yuck I wouldn't trust my data with them, so thumps up for SanDisk.

Doesn't matter to me but sandisk has been good to me I'm still using my sandisk sdcard that came my d1 as opposed to the 8 gig class 6 i bought that lasted for two 3 months

Sorry you have had such issues with Lexar, I have had excellent experience with numerous Lexar cards especially in digital photography. I find SanDisk to be overpriced and marginal in quality. My experience, others may have different ones as well.

I actually have Lexar thumb drive sitting here ATM (not really its actually custom dual stack hardware encrypted supporting MGM2 flash made to appear that way). Point is SanDisk has less than 1% margin of defects and they have the highest quality of build. I am sorry YOU had cards that were marginal quality, could have been that you got none legit cards created during shadow shifts, Kingston and few other folks actually buy mSD that does not meet SanDisk's QC and they in print their own logo and sell them. Don't call me SanDisk fanboy :P I don't even own a single SanDisk card I know they are overpriced but for normal consumers they are good.

Example: SanDisk 32GB Class 2 vs Kingston 32GB Class 4

If you look at some of the benchmarks posted by folks even myself all over sites you can see it for yourself. I don't buy other than reputable dealers as Storage Admin I learned my lesson and now I have 28.1TB NSS. Fact is Samsung and SanDisk actually invested billions flash memory ventures, I believe they also have co-op in facility. Lexar is like off brand you get those yellow or whatever thumb drive on walmart lol for $5.

Knowing Verizon, whichever is cheaper to buy in bulk.

Ya you are right knowing Verizon they were the only folk who were selling SanDisk 32GB Class 2 for $99.99 when SanDisk's MSRP was $199.99 and they themselves was selling for that price and around webs they sold for $149-165. Hell now it maybe $70 or so but keep in mind that is due to "time" as SanDisk was the first to produce 32GB mSD, sorry I had to point that out to be fare to VZ.

Anything is possible, but I have purchased 1st party OEM when the SanDisk 32GB came out it was impossible to get, mine does work very well, but other SanDisk cards did not perform, often purchased from Staples, Office Max or Amazon.com. The 32GB SanDisk did come from Ireland via Airmail. Works well, but I have had issues with it outside of my phone. Still a fresh free card is not a bad deal.

I emailed HTC with the question and they said this.

"We understand that it is important you receive all the information about upcoming devices. At this time there is no information available as to which MicroSD card manufacturer will be used for the upcoming HTC Thunderbolt on Verizon. You can continue to monitor the details about the device at http://www.htc.com/us/products/thunderbolt-verizon#tech-specs"

there you go!

looks like they've updated the info since last time I saw. At least it looks like theres more, maybe I just wasnt paying attention.

My guess is its SanDisk 32GB Class 2 due to VZ already has deal with SanDisk and was offering it since DX with special. Maybe they are just trying to get rid of the inventory as faster class card is out for same price they selling SanDisk for and also else where you can get SanDisk cheaper at avg price $70.

Either way its a free 32G microSDHC card we don't have to buy, and in the past the most Verizon has offered was 2GB on DInc, and 8GB on DX so we are moving up in the world.

I have the opposite :)....
I get better pricing on my CF cards and reliability from Sandisk.

Those 64gb cards coming out...too much to put on one card when shooting!

here is my email back on some info including the sd card. i also asked about gorilla glass. tho i no they use that silicon watever stuff that is basically the same stuff as gorilla glass.

thank you for taking such an interest in the HTC Thunderbolt. I understand how important it is to know more about a phone while looking into buying it.

To answer your first question, no we don’t use Gorilla glass. At this point HTC has decided now to take up this new product and are staying with the glass we have used for some time. In regards to your second question all I can say is that our web site shows the release of the phone with a 32 gb SD card, not the specific brand or speed.

what is a good app to benchmark a sdcard? i got HD Tune, but it wont work. im assuming its cuz im using a adapter?
