Which phone to choose after storm 1

Hello all,

this is my first post in the android community!!! I have following closely for a few weeks and have a quick question. Currently I am a blackberry storm 1 user (burn) and I have been following the droid, nexus one, HTC incredible and others. I am leaning toward the Nexus One or the HTC incredible. I've read that they are similar phones but was wondering why you pick one over the other.

Im actually surprised to see fellow storm users heading over here for their next device. After updating the OS a few times (hybrid and Official) the storm isnt all that bad a device but i find myself in the same situation.

The Nexus One sounded like an amazing phone and I was sold at the beggining...just like my BB Storm at the time. Even after reading all the horror stories, the N1 still has the potential to be a must own device. Im hoping they just correct the touch screen problems with their Verizon release and the rest can be solved with software updates or even ROMs in the future. Also, having these phones in an actual store would help too! U dont buy a new car without drivin the damn thing!

Once again, I thought these same things when the Storm was released and though i am happy with BB, a must have device this is not. Ill still do the same this time around and buy a N1 based more so on its potential for the future. But it is pretty kick-azz right now

Just to throw this out there, I own the nexus one. These "Horror stories" you speak of, I guess I'm not reading enough into the forums. The screen issues are not affecting but a small portion of the existing N1 community and problems like that with any touch screen device.

I am one who bought the storm on release day. Waited in line freezing my behind off for hours. You want to talk about a disaster and a true "horror story", the storm was it. It took them until recently to get the software right for it and it is still just a touch screen BB. I went through 4 storms that had bad screen click issues, not to mention the software was glitchy, archaic and dull.

The Nexus 1 is truly a masterpiece of form and function. No matter what device comes out, you are always going to have the people that give it a nasty review for something trivial, and you are always going to hear more complaints on forums than praises because this is where we come to get answers.

The likelihood that verizon will carry the N1 in stores (though still up for debate) is not very likely. If you want to know how the phone really is, speak to someone who owns one.

Comparing the problems the storm had to the issues some people are having with the N1 is not comparing apples to apples. The operating system on the storm was made for a regular battery, not a touch screen, hence the nightmare that was not resolved until just before the S2 was released. The N1 was built from the ground up with an existing touchscreen OS made for touchscreen. The phone is awesome, and will only get better.

I agree with you Rusty. I was thinking the exact same thing before I read your post. I own a Nexus One also, and have not experienced any problems.

I too came from a BB Storm. I went through so many leaked OS' and when the official update came out i wasn't that impressed. I'v had my Nexus one for about a month and a half and havent looked back. The 583.00 you will spend is worth every penny. If you ever updated your storm through their DM... you know it's a big pain. The nexus sends the update to your phone, or, if you can wait, just upload the file to your sim.... The only problem that i'v had with my nexus is cracking the screen, and took about 10 dropps to do it. Hands off to Blackberry for making their phones like tanks tho. My storm is all kinds of jacked up and still working just fine.

Came from BB Storm1 and chose the Droid. There is no comparison. The N1 was not available yet, so I have no basis to compare. However, the Droid and N1 users that I have talked to both seem to be equally happy with their phone.

I am a current storm owner as well. I'm waiting for the nexus one over the incredible cause any time you can eliminate a middleman (verizon, HTC sense) is better with me. With the nexus one it'll just be me and google. But if that's not an issue the droid and incredible are both great phones as well.

lol i'm here from a storm 2 and a storm 1 ............... i'm finding the change much more traumatic than i thought it would be but so far i can see the potential for my htc desire i just cant realise it yet lol
