If you could trade in your phone for another, which one would it be and why? I've had 4 different HTC Thunderbolts, all defective in some way. The last one the ear piece was blown, this one I think the back speaker is blown. Sound is so muffeled and quiet.

I went from the thunderbolt to the galaxy nexus... but if I had to trade my nexus in for another... I'd either get the galaxy s 3 or wait for the next nexus.

It's probably not gonna happen, getting vzw tech support to switch me out if the tbolt to the s III

If you are talking about a warranty replacement phone, Rezound is probably your best bet. Myself and others had luck with verizon giving us the rezound as a warranty replacement. My other choice was the Droid charge. Based on the options, the rezound is the better choice by far.
Some have been able to get the razr as well, but I wasn't given that option. Of course, changing phones under warranty is a major ymmv.

Phones that are out now? HTC one x then.

Soon to be coming? Galaxy note 2

Still on my original release date thunderbolt

I'm going to attempt to call vzw today and get out of the tbolt to another phone. I'm going to try for the s III, but may settle for the razr max.

I am rooted, and I know tech support is going to ask what software version and all I'm running. Does anyone know the current versions, so I can tell them without unrooting and going back to stock?

There is no way to get them to swap you to the new S3 You need to be more realistic and also be polite when talking to them. I don't think it is unreasonable of you to ask for a replaecment since you have had 4 Thunderbolts but it is unrealistic to think you can get a newly released device. I had Blackberry before getting with Android and had continuous issues with BB Retention allowed me to get the original Incredible at that time. I would ask for the Rezound. It is a decent device. I also doubt they will let you have the Maxx but it they do, that might work. But I would definitely ask for the Rezound. If I were having problems it would be my choice. I have played with the device and it is very good. I like HTC and have had my Thunderbolt since last August without any problems.

i was given the option of droid charge or rezound. those are the more likely options. i have heard of someone getting a razr or maxx, but it doesn't seem as likely.

After my recent problems with wifi dropping out, I called Tech support and they are sending me a Nexus free of charge. Lets see how that phone is... anyone heard good or bad?

I'm going to try this as well with tech support if I can get the nexus as well maybe I can work something out with them.:-!

Galaxy Nexus? No thanks. I've been reading that forum for months now and it is readily apparent the device has a serious signal issue (struggles to maintain a data signal, sometimes even voice in weak areas). For what it's worth, it would appear Samsung radios in the GNex are not up to par. Some have reported newer or replacement devices are better, but it seems too big a risk to even consider. :(

Myself, since no other phone is the least bit appealing, I'd go out and get another Thunderbolt while waiting for its successor somewhere down the road! (I know, call me crazy! :p).

Rezound or Razr Maxx if they offer a CLNR. SInce I'm happy with HTC and like my wife's Incredible 2, the new Incredible 4G would be one I would like to try out. It's probably too new for you to get them to agree to that, but as others have said, YMMV. Worst they can do is say "no."

i would love to get the HTC One X but they do not come on Verizon. I do like the S3 as well but HTC One X would be my first choice. I like the Rezound too but to be honst, I have been pretty happy with my TB. i would want something else just to have something different.

I got a GNex back in January when they offered to push up my upgrade date. Wish I could have gotten it for free! haha. Aside from some occasional signal drops, I love the thing.
