Im debating between buying the one x, galaxy note, s3 or the nexus. Im sure the note and nexus will soon have newer devices this upcoming year. But give me the pros, cons and personal experience of each phone. Im buying whichever one I decide used unless I go with the nexus. I dont want to waste an upgrade this year just to have something way better come out. Although im aware that I will never be able to have the latest and greatest everytime something better comes out id still like to hear opinions about these phones and rumored devices as well. I just cannot stand to keep this xperia play any longer. Sorry for the long post.

I always recommend a Nexus phone. It's not the latest on hardware but it is in software and you can always count to have the latest software and support. The phone experience is not close to any, pure Google.
If you can wait a little longer (2 months) you might have more choices on Nexus phones. If not, the galaxy Nexus is a great phone and the price is reasonable at the Google play store. Software = Nexus, hardware =SGIII

Galaxy SIII hands down better than the nexus and note.

Nexus is more hacker friendly

Gs3 is more consumer friendly

Both will do a fine job

I made my decision!
Thank you guys so much!
Im trading my play and skyrocket for the red s3 today. I have another upgrade in October as well as an upgrade now so I guess if I find something I like more then I can do it that way but I hope im not disappointed. They all seem like great phones but there is so much hype about the S3 Id like to see what its about. I may buy a nexus one day also just so I can have the full android experience.
I appreciate everyones input.

I really love my S3! I think its better than my HOX was. HOX has the best screen on the market though. I guess it depends on what you find important. For a day to day driver you can not go wrong with an S3 IMO.

I'm loving my s3. I almost went with the HOX on a trade but the limited storage and not being able to remove the battery really helped make my decision. Also I don't know if it's just the phone I get from HTC or if it really is a problem with the devices but every HTC I have had the volume sucked and people I would talk to could barely ever hear me on the receiving end. Not saying HTC is bad but personal preference is Samsung for me. I liked that the nexus is always updated though and it runs pure android but hey we can't always have it all.

Love that red color Samsung uses for the S3. Nice choice.

Good choice! I luv my s3......I almost was gonna go for the One X but for the same reasons you posted made it a no go for me.

The red is actually nice. At first I was hesitant about the color and wanted white but once I got the red in my hands it's a very nice color. Not to bright and the front has metallic flakes.
