I have been reading up a lot on the different ROMs being baked and pushed and tested etc etc etc today. I've narrowed it down to:

CyanogenMod 5.0.8 Test1
Jager 1.1
UnRevolved

What issues are you having if at all? Does Swype still work with these ROMs? I supposed yes but I don't know. As of right now it seems that the CyanogenMod has some issues as it's still being developed to a mature enough state to run it daily. However the other two seem to be pretty mature for how early on it is for this.

Thinking about putting a ROM on just to lean my phone up a bit more, and to try a vanilla style Android for a change. It's all about choices and options, what Android is meant to be! God I love root, this should have been given to us from day 1 from HTC/Verizon/Google.

I'm running the jager rom and really enjoying it. Haven't run into any issues yet.

Excellent, trying to narrow down which one is really good so I can run it for awhile. Do you have a download link for Jager? Reason I ask is because the one I had from XDA appears to not be there anymore??

I'm actually using the jager ROM with swype. I signed up for swype beta and had an invite the next morning. I liked that it got rid of sense for the must part. I already had superuser permission so in concert with titanium backup, was able to reload all my apps with app data. Titanium actually makes loading new ROMs simple as pie. Plus all my sense information is saved along with it, on my sd card. Haven't tried wireless tether yet though.

PS really want to do a android 2.2 when it comes available.

I was waiting on Froyo ROM to show up.. but I got bored. So I flashed the Jager 1.6.1 (Without sense) this is my first android so I wanted to see what all the talk about vanilla android was.. I kinda like it, its very simplistic.

So far I have just flashed the updated unrevolved. I think I'm going to wait until the cyanogen is a bit more stable, there seem to be a few significant bugs. Other than the screen not timing out, the latest unrevolved is pretty great.

Right now I'm on the Ultimate Droid Froyo Extreme rom and it works great. It works with swype as well as the htc_ime keyboard.

Ultimate Droid Froyo Exteme rom? Never heard of it.

@SeizedPropaganda, yeah that's kind of what I'm thinking. All the ROMs we have out are a great piece of work but none of them are what I would call daily quality. I think Cyanogen will be great once the issues are worked out over the coming weeks.

For anyone too lazy or stupid to read this is not an Incredible ROM it's for the Droid!!!
Ultimate Droid - Where your phone..becomes an addiction! - Home

But I've heard bad things about that guy. For instance he takes ROMS from other people, places his skin over them and renames them. It's actually not a different ROM. Also there are claims that he just stole a bunch of stuff from Cyanogen Mod etc etc.

NOW I don't know if any of that is true, but there has been a lot of talk on other forums about that guy. And personally if he can't post his work on XDA that tells you a lot about him. Think I'll stick with the more popular ones.

This guy is using a Moto Droid guys, we can't use that rom. Requires a froyo rom already installed.

Umm yeah we get that hence the reason I linked to the site for it...wow calm down lol. So I guess Cyanogenmod is pretty much it for now then, and it has some graphics issues. Anything else I should be aware of on it before I give it a whirl?

Ah, these guys beat me too it. I went to go check out the ROM and discovered that it is in fact a Droid rom, not an Incredible. Don't bother people, stick with the verified ones like unrevolved, cyanogen, etc.

Yeah goes back to my original posting saying if it's not posted on XDA there is a reason. Stick with the 3 or 4 that are out and 'good' for the incredible lol.

stock rom here, with my own hacks. i'm staying stock. stock is stable, i like stable.

No, I know you were trying to clarify it but some people don't take the time to read so I figure if they skipped over your post then they would see my in all caps. Just don't want to see newbs turn their phones into a $600 paper weight. I mean since, people were dumb enough to post that in here you never know what can happen. But other then that graphical issue it has been very stable for me. But I have heard of others having multiple issues with it including Market issues, Gallery issues, camera issues, GPS issues and there were a couple more but I forgot what they were to be honest. Like I said tho I have been extremely lucky and have not had any of these problems at all and I have had it flashed since Koush came out with it. Hope this helps and sorry for this misunderstanding with my prior comment it was not directed towards you at all.

Gotcha, I figured that out after I had posted that. I went back and added a "little" note to my post with the link just in case. After I thought about the whole paper weight issue. lol no harm no foul I suppose!

Yeah from what I've seen the only real issue is the graphical issue with CyanogenMod. The people who seem to be having all the other issues didn't wipe the phone before they flashed the new ROM, not sure if that makes a difference and why it would, but everyone always suggest you wipe the cache and data?

Yeah I always wipe data and cache before installing a ROM twice just so nothing from my previous ROM is left. A lot of times they don't mix well when switching ROMs ( which I am sure you already know ). You know, I never noticed but I think you are right. The people who are having problems, most likely did not wipe. I hope the graphic issues get fixed. I think it's due to the kernel and drivers being totally hacked on this phone. HTC really did a ****ty job with that ( I am surprised the phone boots up out the box ).
