Which ROM do you prefer?

I'm currently using the GTR ROM because someone in another forum found it to be "best" but after reading and such others say it kills the battery a lot. I also like the UI because it's pretty different and easy to look at. The rom itself is also pretty stable as well. What I look for is something that doesn't lag, bloat the system, and maintains battery life. I was wondering out of all the ROMs, which would suit that sort of need the best. I hear people like gingersnap and mirage. So far I've noticed that when I put my phone on airplane mode, 25% of the battery is drained after 6 hours., which is a great deal to the 1% before I rooted it.

I have tried so many ROM's (CM7) and by far the best and most stable has been Mirage's CM7 latest build. Mirage's CM7 combined with Link2SD has been the perfect experience for me.

Download Mirage rom, take the apk called System.apk from system/App on GTR and install it to Mirage. You will then hav the UI.

Mirage does have great battery life, but I was pretty impressed with gingersnap v2.2. Give them both a try.

Try flashing your Rom to Omega with Siyah Kernel..... Kickass combo.....

There are like 4 links to the mirage tho:
MiRaGe 09302012 build. MD5sum: 7f762f0edb5d76f63081e4748d54e8b1
VM670_VZW conversion for MiRaGe. MD5sum: d5bb2ec9c2825b35a1347f697f3af212 (for VM670 on Verizon network)
LS670 conversion for MiRaGe. MD5sum: 03efb2895bd891fb3b65937161ff12d4 (for LS670 on Sprint network)
Flashable zip of the latest MiRaGe kernel.

I'f im with virgin mobile can i just download the first one. I know to flash something you gotta go to boot and wipe everything and then install the zip files of the ROM and then the Gapps, correct?

which gapps should i get from this link? http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Latest_Version/Google_Apps cm7 right?

You could use my Gapps. Saves space so the market doesn't update from the one from long ago.

Download the first link. The others are for OV on Verizon, mirage for LS670, and the kernel as stand alone respectively. For Gapps you want CM7 version.

I still use Bobz old gapps with the old market whenever I go back to gb. The old market is a lot better for finding apps than the play. With play it feels like your search could be interrupted by some type of TV commercial at any moment lol.

I have never had that issue with Play. Have you dissabled the Google Ad Mob in settings? Also I use the app AdFree by BigTinCan. Never had any issues with any adds.

Been running gingersnap for a while just for music playing.

turn that frown into a murderous grin

-Chris thanks for this recommendation .. tried it and it is very nice... just did not like the default wallpaper but other than that, it runs smooth and I have tons of space
