Which speakers are louder, Note 9 or iPhone XS?

I bought my daughter an iPhone XS this past Christmas and having dinner with her right now at PDQ and I notice the speakers are just so much louder than my Note 8 and fuller with it being stereo and wondering if people have had experience with both Note 9 and XS and can give opinion which is louder?

I like my Note 8 but if there was really one thing I don't like is the weak *** single speaker. I mean no way I can sit here at PQD and hear a video with my speakers compared to her.

Don't know what ill do when S10 info is out and possible Note 10 but if I don't like it, I'd consider getting a Note 9. By then with my Corporate pricing I might be able to pick one up for a few hundred dollars.

Unfortunately whenever Note 9 is much superior device over iPhone xs (in my experience iPhone xs max) the stereo speakers are better (louder and deeper, more bass) in iPhone than the Note 9.
But the difference is not so much significant.
Note 9 also plays stereo sound loud and clear.
Don't forget about audio, Note has headphone jack and much better BT codecs over iPhone so overall experience vote for Note 9.
This smartphone is win win. Best in class across both android and iOS.
Have both and going to sell my iPhone xs max

I'm gonna play with my coworkers Note 9 tomorrow and test/push the sound on it to hear for myself again. I'm not really planning to go iPhone unless their next gen is really special or something... but was just watching my daughter watching YouTube at PDQ and just hit me in a loud restaurant how loud and clear it was. Sometimes when out and about... the mall, sitting at airport or restaurant, it's when I'm reminded on the one glaring weakness on the Note 8. Next phone, definitely stereo speakers a must... shouldn't be a premium phone out there next year without it IMO.

Make sure Dolby Atmos is enabled makes a difference. It's on the notification drop down menu.

I have a Note 9 and the XS Max in my household. Both sound great. If I compare them side by side, I think the Note 9 might be a little louder, but not by a lot. Sound quality is always subjective, but I prefer the Note 9 for some reason. Just seems a little more full sounding, for lack of a better description. That is absolutely not to say the iPhone sounds bad. It sounds amazing. It’s nice to see both companies putting some effort into the speakers.

I have both both, a Note 9 and an XS Max. I have to say the Max is louder then the Note 9. I put away my Note 9 for a month and just used the XS Max. When I got out the Note 9 again and listened to a video on it, kept trying to turn up the volume on it because it didn't seem as loud as I thought I remembered it being.

I have both as well and believe the Max is louder, but the Note 9 is great, the Note 8 speaker sucked.

Well I guess that says a lot about my hearing. Lol. Like I said, I didn’t think it was much of a difference. I’ll have to compare again. Either way, they both sound amazing and would not be upset to have to pick one or the other.
