Anyone else notice white balance issues on auto mode? For example, when giving my kids a bath, the tub is extremely yellow, until I switch to manual and make the changes.

I have the same problem with yellow photos in the bath. Only way I could fix it was with manual mode. I wonder if it is the lighting? Interested to hear if any solutions found. Not using flash.

I get the same effect as well, until I move the camera around to get different lighting, then I can see a visual change.

You would be surprised how 'yellow' bathroom lighting often is - it's designed to flatter the humans standing in it :) The reason it looks more yellow in pictures than we would expect is that our own eyes are extremely good at correcting for these shifts in white balance (without us noticing of course). The most reliable way to shift the WB of your pictures back towards blue is to set it manually - luckily that is easy to accomplish in the G4 camera app's manual mode.

Standard incandescent bulbs are a lot more yellow than most people think.
For auto-WB to work well, there needs to be something readily identifiable as white in the picture.
Then the light temperature needs to be within the bounds of the auto-WB system of the camera.
