Whites on Charge Screen

I'm considering buying this phone because I've read so many good things about it's Super AMOLED + screen. I looked at it yesterday and noticed that it doesn't look very bright. I think it has to do with the fact that there's a blue-gray tinge on whites (which I read is just a part of the Super AMOLED +).

My question: is there a setting somewhere that can adjust/compensate for this or is this just a drawback of this type of screen? I turned up the brightness all the way but the whites just didn't look white to me and so made the overall screen seem dark. I compared it to an Incredible 2 that was next to it and the whites looked much better (the Inc2 looked better than the TB to me-aren't they the same screen?). I plan to use it for web browsing more than movies. Thanks.

I noticed this too. The entire screen seems to have a 'cool' hue to it. It's not a huge issue but does bug me quite a bit. I looked in the market just a little and I couldn't find any screen calibration apps or anything. Maybe I just missed it, but something like that would be well worth a purchase to me.

the incredible (when it had amoled) and the fascinate suffer from this

its not a huge issue, you do get used to it

Voodoo color should be able to fix some of the "cool" color and make things look more natural.

yeah VooDoo and CM7 both fixed this issue in the past.... Nothing to stress in the long term

Thanks for the replies. As I mentioned I plan to do mostly web browsing and a lot of site have a white background. The blue hue doesn't bother me so much as the fact that the hue just gives a general feeling that the brightness is not turned up all the way and I keep wanting to turn up the brightness. I know it's a personal preference but it's almost a dealbreaker for me. Hoping to find something to resolve it because I really do like the phone.

I thought you were going to give a screen opinion for the members of the white race lol. Well I knew you weren't but would've been funny.

[INFO]Ok so the reason for blue tint that most people see is that Blue is the quickest of the molecules to degrade. So to off set the aging process most AMOLED screens are optimized for blue verse red or green since they have exponentially longer life time. As OLED techonlogy matures and Blue molecules become more robust they will be able to tune to truer whites without sacrificing Blue lifetime.[/INFO]

I do not have a blue tint. The screen is set to auto bright.

This is the same Super AMOLED + on the Infuse with the blue tint that I notice. Infuse 4G Review - SlashGear It's great that yours doesn't have the tint. Maybe some screens have it and others don't. It can be quite annoying although it doesn't seem to bother most people.

Hopefully VooDoo will correct this.

not everyone precieves color the same and technically the blue tint is considered white. alot of people dont notice it until you put a piece of paper next to the screen.

It was confusing to me at first, when the brightness was maxed for the phone AND for the browser's dedicated brightness setting. The browser looked too dim, compared to the home screen of the phone. Then I tried disabling Power Saving Mode in the Display Settings. I saw an instant difference on web pages with lots of white color, like Google's main page.

I didn't notice it until I read this thread. Kind of like I never noticed Jennifer Anniston's Leno Chin, until someone pointed it out and ruined it for me.

Seriously man, I really hate you right now. A quick google image search and now it's just staring at me

How did I never notice that before????

OK I held my Charge next to my laptop and I see the difference. You ruined my day.:D

Tried exactly as you did. Looked MUCH better. How much power savings does the Power Saving Mode save? (I guess it's turned on by default)
